Well, here we are.
Historical re-enactment costumers extraordinaire, makers of large socks, and producers of jam. The Porpentine thing is a bit of an in-joke - I accused Mr Porpentine of resembling a fretful one, and it just kind of stuck, he being a worry-wart and all. It's a quote from "Hamlet" - that's the Shakespeare play, not the mild cigar - and it's an old word for a porcupine. (And if you'd ever seen Mr P first thing in the morning - oh yes, porcupine just about describes it!)
We mostly do English Civil War re-enactment, but are also dabbling in other periods cos Mrs P just likes sewing, so anything that takes her fancy is fair game. So far medieval and Regency are our other main costuming interests, with 17th century remaining the big historical interest. We do authentic 17th century cooking and crafts, too, but that's just excessive... we must be ![]()
Anyway. We live in Cornwall, and it's beautiful, and we have a 12lb ginger cat who is also beautiful, called Graeme - he will no doubt feature largely in these pages.... and that'll do as an introduction!
